Memphis Theological Seminary underwent a software conversion months ago. The installation of the new system, Univers, replaced fx/Scholar. As a result, all courses received new numbers. Our new software provides a base numbering scheme that provides a 2 letter department code with a 5-digit (all numeric) course number.

For example, PC 20000 replaces PC 02 Introduction to Pastoral Care.

Students and faculty must know the following: a.) all cross-listed courses will continue to bear the same numbers; b.) all course titles longer than 20 characters were shortened to 20 characters or less including spaces and/ or punctuation. In such cases, abbreviated titles will appear on transcripts and not in the current catalog; and c.) in cases where a course received a new title, it will appear in parenthesis on the table.

The new course numbers will be used for the first time during pre-registration for January/Spring 2005. A course renumbering table is also available in print outside the Registrar’s Office. For more information, please phone 901.458.8232 ext. 114.

To assist you with learning the new course numbers, we are providing this translation page. Select either an old course number in the first drop-down box, or a new course number in the second drop-down box, and you will see the old and new numbers for the course, along with its discipline, title, and prerequisites (with both old and new numbers).
