Library Assistant Position
Memphis Theological Seminary Library, seeks to hire one additional Library Assistant. We are in need of someone that can work Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and the other hours are flexible. Library Assistants work approximately 10 hours per week depending on seasonal schedules and hours of availability. The pay rate is $7.80 per hour. Memphis Theological Seminary Library Assistants provide public service to all Memphis Theological Seminary Library users — students, faculty, staff and general public. Working primarily at the public service (circulation) desk, Library Assistants are responsible for checking in and checking out library materials, registering new users, registering users for PaperCuts and collecting overdue fines utilizing the SirsiDynix Symphony Workflows library system. Library Assistants assist Memphis Theological Seminary students with locating library materials using the library online catalog and available databases. Library Assistant’s re-shelve library materials, verify donated books against library holdings, participate in library inventories and assist the professional staff with other tasks as assigned. This position reports to the Circulation Supervisor.

Ability to lift and carry books and push book carts
Ability to bend and lift materials onto stacks both high and low positions
